tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-84668166653677478982011-07-23T09:54:31.614-07:00Job Maldivesnoreply@blogger.comBlogger11100tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466816665367747898.post-89383072686449720452008-10-26T14:55:00.000-07:002008-10-26T14:56:49.937-07:00<div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;">Haveeru</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;"></span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;">Ballot papers to be used in the second round of the presidential elections have been printed with additional security features embedded into the paper, the Elections Commission has said.<br /><br />Mohamed Tholaal, the Assistant Director General of the Commission said on Saturday that the printing of the ballot papers was given to Novelty Printers and Publishers and that the new ballot papers would have many new security features.<br /><br />“One of the differences is that the papers were printed using a special ink,” he said. “We’ve also included a fait watermark type of feature also.”<br /><br />Tholaal said that there was no way that anyone could make a copy of the new ballot paper and that the ballot papers would not be leaked to the public either.<br /><br />The Elections Commission said that they had printed 218,720 copies of the ballot paper for use in the runoff elections slated for next Tuesday.
